Mark Swan BA (Hons), Managing Director

Mark has an overriding objective to produce good quality homes. His interest lies with working with both traditional and modern methods of construction alike. He has a huge passion for innovative design which is shared throughout the company.

Mark has worked within the construction industry for over 30 years. His early background is in carpentry and joinery, he has a Higher National Diploma in building and has previously worked for two major house builders which enabled him to formulate a sound basis on which to build his own business and produce an impressive portfolio of projects. Later in his career he gained an honours degree in Social Policy which had given him an understanding of community housing issues.

Mark’s view on sustainability - ‘For me "sustainability" is a term which refers to a way of life where generations and people of every age ability and social background can live together in the way intended since time began. This means accounting for the earth’s natural resources in an economic way to create an environment that is healthy and socially inclusive. Our developments and buildings need to reflect this. Equally, it is the responsibility of the developer to educate the occupants and the wider community on these sustainable issues.

Put simply if we do not strive to achieve this through intuition and logic we will not safeguard future generations'.

Zoë Swan, Director

Zoë, has excellent management and finance skills from her earlier career in the NHS as a Chartered Physiotherapist and from over 10 years working with Mark. Her experience in a caring profession, her commitment, and her own personal philosophy and attributes are fundamental to the sustainable success of the company.

Zoë spearheads the Finance, Sales & Marketing department and ensures that the Swan Country Homes company philosophies are carried through to the homes owners.

Zoë’s view on sustainability - ‘Sustainability, for me has to be about creating a community and ensuring to the best of our ability that the buildings we create are not only sought after because they look good but because they are comfortable to live in, cheaper to run and and practical to use'.
